About Us
At New Horizons Counseling & Wellness, we believe meaningful change begins with feeling understood, supported, and empowered. We provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and couples, with a primary focus on helping navigate anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions.
Our approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. We meet each client where they are and work together to build insight, resilience, and practical skills that support long-term emotional well-being. Whether a teen is struggling with academic pressure, social stress, or emotional overwhelm—or an adult or couple is seeking clarity, connection, or healing—we create a safe, respectful space for growth.
In addition to counseling services, New Horizons Counseling & Wellness offers clinical supervision and professional training for mental health professionals. Separately, we bring extensive experience working collaboratively with schools and educational communities, supporting systems that promote student well-being and healthy development.
Services are available both in person in the Parsippany/Morris County area and through secure telehealth across New Jersey.
At New Horizons Counseling & Wellness, our goal is simple: to help individuals and families move forward with confidence, clarity, and hope—toward a new horizon.

My name is Tim Conway, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and couples through life’s challenges. I believe therapy works best when it feels safe, honest, and collaborative—and my goal is to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported from the very first conversation.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a wide range of settings, including schools, private practice, outpatient programs, and in-home services. I have extensive experience helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, academic, sports, career concerns, and major life transitions. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply unsure of your next step, therapy can be a place to slow down, gain clarity, and move forward with intention.
My approach to counseling is grounded in Adlerian theory and integrates strengths-based, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, and skills-based strategies. In practice, that means we focus not only on what’s challenging, but also on your strengths, values, and goals. Clients often describe my style as honest, empathetic, nonjudgmental, and genuine. I value open dialogue and believe meaningful change happens when we work together in a way that feels authentic to you.
In my work with couples, I focus on creating a supportive environment where partners can strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and work through challenges with respect and understanding. I’m passionate about helping couples develop the tools they need to grow and thrive together.
Outside of my professional work, I value balance and connection. I’m a former college baseball athlete and still enjoy playing in a men’s baseball league, along with golfing, fishing, gardening, and cooking with fresh ingredients from my garden. I also enjoy traveling, both personally and professionally, and have visited more than 150 colleges and universities.
If you’re considering therapy—whether for yourself, your teen, or your relationship—I welcome the opportunity to support you as you begin that journey.
Suzanne Hemeda
Licensed Associate Counselor

My name is Suzanne Hemeda, a Licensed Associate Counselor with over a decade of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults through periods of growth, challenge, and transition. I believe therapy should feel supportive, authentic, and collaborative. It is a place where you can slow down, gain clarity, and work toward meaningful change in a way that feels practical and empowering.
I bring a diverse background in counseling and mental health work, supporting individuals as they navigate anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. While I have extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults, I enjoy working with adults of all ages who are seeking greater balance, direction, and emotional well-being in their lives.
My approach to counseling is integrative and collaborative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused strategies, and Reality Therapy grounded in Choice Theory. I believe our thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences all influence how we show up in the present. While I take time to understand each client’s history, family dynamics, and current circumstances through a thorough biopsychosocial lens, our work focuses on increasing insight into present patterns, strengthening coping skills, and identifying realistic, values-aligned choices that support meaningful change.
Clients often describe my style as warm, genuine, and grounded, while also direct and goal-oriented. I value open communication and collaboration, and I strive to meet clients where they are, whether they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for clarity and support.
Outside of my professional work, I value balance, curiosity, and connection. I enjoy reading psychological thrillers, spending time in nature, traveling, and staying active. I also appreciate meaningful conversations and time with people who help keep life grounded and fulfilling. If you are considering therapy, I welcome the opportunity to work together as you take steps toward greater clarity and well-being.
